All the world’s a runway, a fact Danielle Everine knows well. Teaming with Minneapolis indie boutique Cliché, the Project Runway alum transformed the crosswalk into a catwalk with the help of a few palm frond crowns. The literally traffic stopping display offered a delightful slice of the tropics during Fashion Week Minnesota.
We caught up with Danielle to find out more about her imaginative Spring 2017 collection. “Think Elvis on the ukulele in Blue Hawaii,” she said of the inspiration behind the show. “Technicolor films and island breezes,” she added, were also on her mind as she crafted these pieces.
Danielle’s fellow local designer Jenny Carle also contributed looks to Cliché’s show at 24th and Lyndale, joined by more brands from across the nation. Runway Manhattan photographer Michelle Sangster was on the scene to capture the superbly surreal show. — jas
