With National Look Alike Day coming up this April 20, it’s time to cross reference your wardrobe with your BFF’s.

Dressing alike is a blast. It can be a sort of inside joke that you and your best friend get to share with anyone you happen to pass on the sidewalk. First, figure out the similarities there between your bestie’s closet and your own. Then, let the coordination begin!

Want inspiration? Look to the stars. Recently, Reese Witherspoon and Emilia Clarke took part in this year’s Golden Globes blackout with sweet, dotted embellishments. Similarly, Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen were both happy to pair their Marc Jacobs dresses with Sophia Webster pumps.

Off the red carpet, a simple black leather jacket, jeans, and sneakers were good enough for Chloe Grace Moretz and her companion on a stroll through Los Angeles.

Sometimes twinning just involves a subtle color scheme or a single matching accessory. Other times, it’s fun to go all-out with nearly identical getups.

A few fashion pairs in particular are well known for their complementary styles. Duos include the Beckerman twins and the Costume Denmark team, Thora Valdimarsdottir and Jeanette Friis Madsen. In cases like these, the one fashion pro is rarely seen without the other.

Is your combined style wacky or refined? Laid back or luxe? Do you want to mirror each other from head to toe or just top your elegant dresses off with a couple of chic berets? The possibilities are endless. If your closets have zero parallels and you don’t feel like shopping, just do up your hair in the same way!

And if you want the latest runway options, look no farther than Versace’s latest show. Happy Twinning! — jas
